1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using PlateWalk ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

PlateWalk is a food trail discovery and tracking platform. We provide curated walking routes connecting restaurants and food experiences in cities across the United States. Users can check in at stops, earn badges, write reviews, and track their food adventures.

3. User Accounts

• You must be at least 13 years old to create an account.
• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your password.
• You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
• You must provide accurate information when creating your account.
• One person or entity may not maintain more than one account.

4. User Content

You retain ownership of content you submit (reviews, photos, etc.). By submitting content, you grant PlateWalk a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, display, and distribute that content on the platform.

PlateWalk has zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive behaviour. You agree not to submit content that is:

• False, misleading, or defamatory
• Harassing, abusive, threatening, or bullying toward any person
• Hateful or discriminatory on the basis of race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, disability, age, sex, gender identity, or sexual orientation
• Sexually explicit, pornographic, or depicting nudity
• Graphically violent, or promoting or glorifying violence, self-harm, or illegal activity
• Invasive of another person's privacy, including sharing someone else's personal information
• In violation of any third party's rights
• Spam or unsolicited commercial content

5. Reporting, Blocking, and Moderation

Every review, photo, and comment in the PlateWalk app carries a report control. Tap the flag icon on any piece of content to report it, or to block the person who posted it.

• Reporting — reported content enters our moderation queue immediately. We review every report within 24 hours and remove content that breaches these Terms. Content reported by several different people is flagged for priority review automatically.
• Blocking — blocking someone hides their reviews and photos from you straight away. They are not told that you blocked them. You can see and undo your blocks from your account settings.
• Enforcement — we may remove any content, and suspend or permanently terminate any account, at our sole discretion and without prior notice, where we believe these Terms have been breached. Serious breaches result in immediate removal of both the content and the account behind it.

By using PlateWalk you agree to these terms of acceptable use, and you accept that there is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users.

5. PlatePoints and Rewards

PlatePoints are a virtual currency with no monetary value. They cannot be exchanged for cash. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the PlatePoints program at any time. Points may expire after 12 months of account inactivity.

6. Subscriptions and Billing

Paid subscriptions are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis. You may cancel at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. We do not offer refunds for partial billing periods.

7. Restaurant Listings

Restaurant information on PlateWalk is provided for informational purposes. We do not guarantee the accuracy of hours, menus, prices, or availability. Always verify details directly with the restaurant before visiting.

8. Prohibited Uses

You may not use the Service to:

• Scrape, crawl, or systematically download content
• Interfere with or disrupt the platform or servers
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service
• Impersonate another person or entity
• Use the platform for any unlawful purpose

9. Termination

We reserve the right to remove any content, and to suspend or terminate your account, at any time for violations of these Terms or for any other reason at our discretion. You may delete your account at any time from Settings in the PlateWalk app; deletion anonymises your account and removes the text of your comments.

10. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. PlateWalk is not responsible for your experiences at any restaurant, food safety, allergic reactions, or any other outcomes from following our trails.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, PlateWalk shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages resulting from your use of the Service.

12. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms. We will notify users of material changes by email or in-app notice.
